Preschool children will generally be in one large group, but may be divided into smaller groups for projects. Group size will not exceed 9 children with one adult (State regulations allow for up to 12 preschool children with one adult). The preschool program will serve children from 3-4 years of age. In this classroom children will be encouraged to explore math, science, language arts - including Spanish language instruction, social studies, music, arts, dramatic play and motor skills. Teachers will plan appropriately challenging lessons to facilitate growth in all areas of development. What you should bring: Please label all of your child's items with their name or initials - including diapers, wipes, etc. Snacks (morning, afternoon, late afternoon) and lunch Spare clothing (weather appropriate), which can be left at the center until needed Blanket and small pillow (to be taken home each Friday for cleaning) Optional Items: A soft toy for snuggling Photographs or other items from home We Provide: Nap-time cot Age appropriate tableware (plates, cups, spoons, etc.) One year prior to your child's enrollment in a kindergarten program, you will receive a transition letter explaining the option of enrolling your child in the prekindergarten program. A conference will be held between you, office staff, and you child's preschool teacher and the prekindergarten teacher to establish a transition plan for your child. |
